A 52-year-old man died after being hit by a van while he was crossing the street in the Bronx, police said Friday.
Inza Fofana was crossing the street at E. 149th St. and Morris Ave. in Mott Haven around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday when a 48-year-old man driving a 2019 Ford Transit van west on E.149th St. struck Fofana as the driver attempted to make a left turn onto Morris Ave., according to police.
EMS transported Fofana to Lincoln Hospital in critical condition, where he later died, cops said. Fofana lived in upper Manhattan.
The driver stayed at the scene, according to police. There has been no arrest and the investigation is ongoing.
The type of van — whether it was being used to transport passengers or cargo — wasn’t immediately clear.
