Man, 54, fatally cashes U-Haul into pillar for elevated Brooklyn subway tracks


A 54-year-old man died after he lost control of his U-Haul van and crashed into a support pillar for elevated Brooklyn subway tracks, critically injuring his passenger, police said Tuesday.

Anthony Jorg was driving the U-Haul south on McDonald Ave. in Borough Park when he veered into the support pillar for the elevated F line near Bay Parkway just before 8 p.m. Sunday, cops said.

Medics rushed Jorg to Maimonides Medical Center but he could not be saved.

The 50-year-old woman in his passenger seat was taken to the same hospital in critical but stable condition, police said.

Jorg was about two miles from home when he crashed, according to cops.

Cops on Tuesday were still trying to determine what caused Jorg to lose control.
