Man arrested for fatal shooting near Brooklyn’s Prospect Park

A 21-year-old man was arrested one day after gunning down a 24-year-old man whom he was chasing near Brooklyn’s sprawling Prospect Park, cops said Thursday.

Kindle Akinola was taken into custody Thursday afternoon and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon for fatally shooting Ramel Ingram just before 9 p.m. Wednesday in front of the apartment building where Ingram lived on Crooke Ave. near Ocean Ave. in Flatbush, police said.

Ingram was shot multiple times in the chest, according to police. EMS rushed him to Kings County Hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds.

Cops arrested Akinola the next day.

The men were neighbors with Akinola living only a few blocks away — less than a 10 minute walk from Ingram’s home, where he was shot, according to police.

Both men lived near the southeastern corner of Prospect Park, close to Prospect Park Lake.
