Man bumps woman in Harlem and gets his face slashed by her beau in return: NYPD

A 33-year-old man was slashed in the face after he accidentally bumped into a woman on a Harlem street and the angered woman called her boyfriend for help, police said Wednesday.

It was the second slashing to occur in Harlem within two hours, cops said.

The victim was walking along W. 135th St. near Malcolm X Blvd. — just a few steps from Harlem Hospital — when he bumped into the woman about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, cops said.

Outraged over the simple mistake, the woman grabbed her phone and called her boyfriend, who showed up within a few moments.

Once the boyfriend got there, he lunged at the victim and slashed him in the face, cops said.

He also swiped the victim’s cell phone before both he and his girlfriend ran off into the night.

The victim was treated for a minor injury at Harlem Hospital.

About two hours later, a 37-year-old woman was slashed in the face and pushed onto the train tracks at the 125th St. A/C station near St. Nicholas Ave., about a mile from the first attack, cops said.

The man she was arguing with, identified by police sources as an ex-boyfriend, slashed her with a razor blade before shoving her and running off. The woman managed to climb back onto the platform and seek help at Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, police said.

Cops were looking for the two suspects in the slashing outside Harlem Hospital Wednesday. No arrests have been made. The slasher is described as a Black man in his 30s. He’s about 5-foot-10 and was dressed in all black, cops were told.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
