A man walking on the subway tracks was struck and killed by a train Tuesday morning in the Bronx, cops said.
Police responded to a 911 call around 8:39 a.m. from the Tremont Avenue station between Grand Concourse and East Tremont Ave. in Morris Heights, where they found the victim, believed to be between 35-40 years old, on the tracks.
Police said the man had been walking on the roadbed of the tracks as a northbound D train was entering the station, but the train operator was unable to stop the train in time to avoid him. He was pronounced dead at the scene, cops said.
The man’s name was not immediately released.
