Man in critical condition after he’s stabbed at Brooklyn’s Jay St.-MetroTech station



A man was clinging to life Tuesday afternoon after being stabbed at the Jay St.-MetroTech subway station in downtown Brooklyn, cops said.

Police rushed to the scene near Lawrence Ave. and Willoughby St. around 3:07 p.m., where they found the unidentified victim unconscious and unresponsive with stab wounds.

EMS transported him to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Brooklyn Methodist, where he was in critical condition.

The suspect — described as wearing yellow shoes, black pants with yellow striping, and a dark shirt, according to police sources — fled, and no arrest has been made.

The investigation is ongoing.

Transit crime in New York City so far this year is down 4.3%. Through Oct. 5, there have been 1,598 crimes in the transit system this year compared with 1,669 by the same point last year.

The number of felony assaults within the transit system, meanwhile, has held steady so far this year compared with the same time last year, with 435 through Oct. 5, according to NYPD crime statistics.
