The man who was fatally shot at a casino in North Las Vegas earlier this week has been identified as the son of former North Las Vegas state senator and mayoral candidate Pat Spearman.
Na’Onche Osborn, 23, was fatally shot inside the Aliante Casino and Hotel in the early hours of Thursday, officials said.
North Las Vegas police officers responded to the area around 4:30 a.m., the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. North Las Vegas is located 10 miles north of Las Vegas.
The suspect fled the scene but was later involved in a car crash near Spring Mountain Rd. and Interstate 15 in Las Vegas, Undersheriff Andrew Walsh told reporters later on Thursday.
He’s also believed to be linked to three carjackings, Walsh said.
The suspect, later identified as 19-year-old Aerion Warmsley, was arrested on Friday after a high-speed chase. He was charged with open murder with a deadly weapon and robbery with a deadly weapon, officials said.
The victim died from multiple gunshot wounds, the Clark County Coroner’s Office announced Saturday.
A spokesperson for his family confirmed the news in a statement to KNTV Las Vegas.
“It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Senator Spearman’s beloved son,” the statement reads, in part. “This is an unimaginable loss for the senator and their family, and they are heartbroken.”
Spearman, a Democrat, served as state senator for Nevada’s Senate District 1 from 2013 to 2025. She also ran for mayor in 2022 but lost to North Las Vegas Councilwoman Pamela Goynes-Brown.
