Man stabbed to death at North Jersey TGI Fridays

A North Jersey man was stabbed to death at a TGI Fridays restaurant late Sunday night, police said.

The victim has not been publicly identified, and no suspects were named or arrested, according to a Facebook post from the Linden Police Department.

Officers responded around 10 p.m. to reports of a fight at the restaurant on S. Park Avenue in Linden, just across the Arthur Kill from Staten Island, cops said.

Police found the victim lying on the floor of the restaurant and suffering from a stab wound. He was transported to Newark University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No further details about the fight have been released, including the number of people involved or what started it. Linden police encouraged anyone with knowledge of the incident to reach out.

The incident at the TGI Fridays was one of several stabbings in North Jersey throughout the past week.

On Nov. 3 in Bayonne, a man was stabbed to death in his home late at night. Andrew Fuentes, a 28-year-old Bayonne resident, was later arrested and charged with aggravated manslaughter in the death of 41-year-old Garfield resident Richard Arcos.

Two days later, six people were arrested for a stabbing incident in Harrison after they fled into the PATH train and delayed travel for up to 40 minutes, according to police.

The TGI Fridays where Sunday night’s stabbing occurred is one of a dwindling number in New Jersey following the chain’s bankruptcy filing last year.
