The action at a Manhattan mixed martial arts center got a bit too real Saturday morning, when a gymgoer there got knifed, police said.
Cops cuffed Caleb Perry, 23, slapping him with charges of attempted murder, assault and burglary for stabbing a 24-year-old man in the back inside Radical MMA gym, on 29th St. between Seventh and Eighth Aves., in Chelsea, around 11 a.m., police said.
EMS transported the victim to Bellevue Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
Police arrested Perry an hour later. It was unclear what sparked the violent assault and also whether Perry was actually a gymgoer at the MMA center.
His arraignment was pending in Manhattan Criminal Court Saturday evening.
On its website, Radical MMA says it welcomes beginners and pros alike, stating: “Our classes are designed for self-defense practitioners as well as those aspiring to fight MMA at the amateur or professional level.”
