Man stabs mother-in-law dead in Queens, then sets house on fire: source

A 50-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her 27-year-old son-in-law, who also attacked her 17-year-old son before turning the knife on himself at their Queens home — which he set ablaze — Thursday afternoon, a police source said.

After attacking his mother and brother-in-law, the suspect slashed his wrist and is currently in critical condition at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, the source said. The 17-year-old is stable, according to the source.

The bloodbath happened in a home near 45th Ave. and Smart St. in Flushing just before 4 p.m., police said. The suspect then set the house on fire before being taken into custody, according to the FDNY. Firefighters brought the flames under control.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
