A thief stole a dog from a sleeping straphanger onboard a Bronx train, cops said Wednesday.
The suspect — in his 20s, wearing all black clothes and a black Yankees cap and sporting medium-length braids — was on a D train Sunday around 6 a.m. heading north near Bainbridge Ave. and East 206 St. in Norwood when he approached a dozing 45-year-old man and swiped his American Bully dog, cops said.
The dognapper dashed off with the pooch in a unknown direction.
Cops released images of the suspect and the canine in hopes someone would recognize them.
American Bullies share common ancestry with pit bulls but are generally more laid back in temperament.
Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
