Marilyn Manson details Ozzy Osbourne’s ‘beautiful’ funeral

Marilyn Manson is saying “see you on the other side” to his old pal.

The musician, 56, took to social media to share a sweet message after Ozzy Osbourne was laid to rest next to the lake of his Buckinghamshire home on Thursday.

In his Instagram Story, shared just hours after the funeral took place, Manson described his friendship with the late star, who died at age 76 on July 22.

“Today we laid to rest a beloved friend,” the rocker wrote. “I am eternally grateful that you let me into your life, Ozzy. Your inspiration and love will always be with me. Thank you, Sharon and family, for a reverent, beautiful ceremony. Your legacy lives on.”

On Thursday, funeral guests were pictured departing a hotel and arriving at the private memorial held at the Osbourne family’s house.

The day before, at the Prince of Darkness’ funeral procession, Osbourne’s widow, Sharon, 72, and their kids, Aimee, 41, Kelly, 40, and Jack, 39, were all in tears as they laid down purple flowers for their beloved family patriarch.

Osbourne’s son Louis, 50, whose mother is Thelma Riley, Ozzy’s first wife, was also at the procession.

At the private funeral on Thursday, a slew of A-listers paid tribute to the heavy metal icon, including Osbourne’s Black Sabbath bandmates Terence “Geezer” Butler, Tony Iommi and Bill Ward.

Metallica’s James Hetfield, punk rocker Yungblud and Elton John were also said to have paid their respects.

Around 110 people were given a black invitation with a picture of a cross that read: “In loving memory of Ozzy Osbourne,” per the Sun.

“Everyone at the service just wanted to support Sharon and the kids. It has been an awful time,” a source shared with the outlet.

“Toasts were raised, memories were shared — it was a very fitting goodbye,” the insider added. “There was a stage where people including Yungblud, who grew very close to Ozzy in recent years, were set to pay tribute to him.”

“The day was incredibly emotional,” according to the source. “Pictures of Ozzy were dotted throughout the house and a photograph of him was given to everyone who attended to take home with them.”

They explained that the late rocker “wanted his final place of rest to be at home, and he is buried at a beautiful point on the lake.”

Manson had been a longtime supporter of Osbourne. He attended the Black Sabbath frontman’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star-dedication ceremony in 2002.

The pair co-presented at Spike TV’s Scream Awards in 2006.

On July 5, Manson made a video appearance at Black Sabbath’s Back to the Beginning farewell concert.

“It is a great honor to be here via this video,” Manson said, “and I’d like to say congratulations, and I love you very much, Ozzy.”

However, fans did not take kindly to the artist being included.

One person wrote on X, “Eurgh, Marilyn Manson making an appearance on the sabbath stream. F–k that guy he’s a piece of s–t.”

The backlash comes after Manson was accused of rape, sexual assault and torture by at least a dozen women, including former fiancée Evan Rachel Wood, in 2021.

However, in January, it was revealed he would not be charged.

“We have determined that allegations of domestic violence fall outside of the statute of limitations, and we cannot prove charges of sexual assault beyond a reasonable doubt,” Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said.

Osbourne’s family confirmed his death to The Post on July 22, saying in a statement, “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.”

They added, “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy at this time.”
