Ross and the cop were the real power couple on “Friends.”
David Schwimmer appeared on Tuesday’s “Live With Kelly and Mark,” and the trio discussed Mark Consuelos’ 2001 cameo on “Friends” as a cop who pulls over Ross (Schwimmer) and Rachel (Jennifer Aniston).
“How is your ‘Friends’ trivia? Do you think you’re really good at it?” Consuelos, 53, asked Schwimmer, 58, during the interview.
Schwimmer insisted that his knowledge of the beloved sitcom is “really bad.”
However, Consuelos didn’t back down.
“We’re going to check your ‘Friends’ trivia,” the host said to Schwimmer. “We’re going to watch a little clip, and I want you to name the actor in this scene.”
They then showed the clip of Consuelos’ cameo on “Friends.” The scene in which his cop character flirts with Rachel after pulling her and Ross over is from the Season 7 episode “The One With Chandler’s Dad.”
“Oh my God,” Schwimmer said in response to the clip from 2001 as the audience clapped.
“The sexual chemistry between you two was palpable in that scene,” Ripa joked about her husband and Schwimmer.
Schwimmer has been doing press for Season 2 of “Goosebumps” on Disney+ and Hulu — and he’s been asked about “Friends” in some of the interviews.
During his appearance on “Good Morning America” on Tuesday, Schwimmer spoke about his “close” bond with co-star Matt LeBlanc, who played Joey.
“What’s fun is we’ve got the kind of friendship where we may not talk for months, but out of nowhere, he’ll send me a message with a clip from the show — which, it’s always funny to relive something we shot, what, 25 years ago or more,” Schwimmer said.
“So he sent me something a couple of days ago that totally surprised me,” he added of LeBlanc. “I genuinely forgot what we’ve shot, but it’s a moment where he just rips my shirt off.”
Schwimmer also revealed that avid “Friends” fans still shout “Pivot!” at him on the street.
“Sometimes it’s startling, but also it’s just a reminder that the series lives on, which is good,” he said.
“Friends” aired from 1994 to 2004 and starred Schwimmer, Aniston, LeBlanc, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow and Matthew Perry, who died at age 54 in October 2023.
Perry died after a ketamine overdose. His autopsy report listed the manner of death as accidental drowning.
This past August, attorneys indicted five individuals they allege were involved in procuring and distributing ketamine to Perry.
