Married NJ cops arrested on child sexual abuse, porn charges

A New Jersey police officer and his wife, a sergeant with the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, have been arrested on charges of child sexual abuse and related crimes, online inmate records show.

New Jersey State Police arrested Brian and Elizabeth DiBiasi following a raid at their Hamilton Township home early Wednesday morning, WKXW-FM reported.

Brian DiBiasi, 39, is a Hamilton police officer who has served on the force for 21 years. He was charged with permitting a child to engage in pornography, sexual conduct with a child by a caretaker, knowingly possessing/viewing/controlling items of child sexual exploitation or abuse, as well as distribution and storing of child pornography.

His wife, Elizabeth, was charged with sexual conduct with a child by a caretaker. According to the Trentonian, the 42-year-old is an 18-year veteran of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, where she currently holds the rank of sergeant.

She has been suspended without pay while the investigation is ongoing, officials said.

Investigators learned about allegations against the couple on Tuesday after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Child pornography images allegedly first appeared on the social media app Kik.

In the images, the couple is seen having sex in front of children, NJ.com reported citing court documents filed in support of the charges.

Elizabeth DiBiasi also appeared nude in some of the images next to the children, who were also seen nude, officials said.

The investigation is being handled by the state’s attorney general’s office, according to WKXW-FM. A spokesperson for AG Matthew Platkin didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment on Thursday.

The DiBiasis are currently being held in Monmouth County jail pending a court hearing.
