Megan Moroney will only share a New Year’s kiss if she meets a cowboy in NYC

“Rockin’ Eve” performer Megan Moroney doesn’t think she’ll be locking lips with anyone at midnight in Times Square — maybe.

“As of now, the answer is no,” the country star told The Post. “Unless I meet some sort of hot cowboy in New York . . . We’re still looking.”

Too bad the most famous cowboy in Times Square, Robert Burck, aka the Naked Cowboy, is married and 27 years her senior, or that could have been a made-for-TV moment.

The Savannah, GA, native — who will be performing at “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” for the first time this year — is no stranger to NYC. Her dad is a Bronx native.

“I’ve been to New York since I was a baby. My dad has six brothers, so I’ve been coming to New York for forever,” she said.

“And I remember being on my grandma’s couch in New Jersey and I would fall asleep around nine, but then I would wake up to see the ball drop and the performers and stuff. So it’s like a full circle moment.”

Moroney, 27, a University of Georgia alum, was in Manhattan in August and made sure to stop at the Midtown watering hole American Whiskey on West 30th Street, which is a hangout for her alma mater.

“I bought everyone in the bar a round of shots,” she said.

When she was a freshman in college, Moroney pledged the sorority Kappa Delta, and was discovered at her sorority’s philanthropy event, where country singer John Langston performed.

“Yeah, it’s crazy. We had a concert and we used our budget on John Langston and they were like, ‘Well, Megan will do it for free. She can get up and sing something,’” she remembered.

“I literally, at the time, sang three cover songs because I didn’t even have songs yet. I believe it was ‘Mama’s Broken Heart’ by Miranda Lambert and probably a Kacey Musgraves song, maybe like ‘Merry Go ‘Round.’”

Country singer Chase Rice was in the audience, and ended up inviting her to sing at his upcoming concert at the Georgia Theatre, and the rest goes down in country music history.

“He said, ‘You can open for me next month, but I need you to write an original song,’ so I wrote my first song,” she recalled.

In July, Moroney, who has 1.6 million followers on Instagram, released her second album “Am I Okay?” which debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 and No. 3 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.

One of the songs on the record, titled “Heaven By Noon,” was inspired by her uncle, who died on Sept. 11 in the World Trade Center, and his last conversation with her aunt.

“When I was writing it and thinking about my aunt, I thought that it would be a good way to honor him,” she said.

“I get a lot of messages about that song specifically, that it helps [fans] through a very difficult time in their life.”

Moroney, who has headlined at the Bowery Ballroom and opened for Kenny Chesney at MetLife Stadium, will be back in New York in March, as she plays Radio City Music Hall for the first time, to kick off her “Am I Okay?” tour in the U.S.

“To be able to have two nights at Radio City is such a dream come true,” she gushed. “That’s gonna be a pinch-me moment.”
