Meghan Markle, Prince Harry mocked over dance video from Lilibet’s birth

Not everybody loves the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s dance moves.

Meghan Markle was mocked this week after sharing a rare video of her and Prince Harry dancing in the delivery room before their daughter Lilibet’s birth in 2021.

“Four years ago today, this also happened,” Markle, 43, wrote on Instagram alongside the controversial clip.

“Both of our children were a week past their due dates,” she explained, “so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work – there was only one thing left to do!”

The video, which the “Suits” alum uploaded to celebrate Lilibet’s fourth birthday on Wednesday, June 4, showed Markle dancing to Starrkeisha’s then-viral song, “The Baby Momma Dance,” while cradling her baby bump.

As the As Ever founder “drops it low” and sings along to the tune to induce Lilibet’s birth, Prince Harry, 40, shimmies across the delivery room before stepping out of view and returning with his hood drawn over his head.

The couple, who married in 2018 and welcomed their son, Prince Archie, 6, in May 2019, continue grooving together to the song as it comes to an end.

But while the Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared to be enjoying their dance party in the four-year-old clip, others took to social media to ridicule Markle over the “cringe” video.

“I feel nauseous,” one person tweeted.

“Oh my,” added another. “That’s…really…awful.”

“They are cringe to the max!” commented a third, while a fourth person wrote, “That is one lumpy baby belly.”

However, fans of the royal renegades loved Markle’s video and commented that the couple “look like they have so much fun together.”

Shortly before sharing the clip of her and Harry dancing in the delivery room, Markle shared a series of photos of herself and Lilibet to commemorate the young princess’ fourth birthday.

“Happy birthday to our beautiful girl!” the former actress wrote alongside a pic of her holding Lilibet on a boat. “Four years ago today she came into our lives – and each day is brighter and better because of it.”

“Thanks to all of those sending love and celebrating her special day!” Markle added.

Another post showed two pictures of Harry and Lilibet. The first saw him looking into his daughter’s eyes shortly after her birth, while the second showed the Duke of Sussex holding Lilibet’s hand during a walk.

“The sweetest bond to watch unfold,” Markle wrote alongside her second post. “Daddy’s little girl and favorite adventurer.”

“Happy birthday Lili!” she added.

Markle and Prince Harry welcomed Lilibet, whose full name is Princess Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, on June 4, 2021.

Her birth came more than one year after the couple quit their royal duties and moved to Montecito, Calif.

Lilibet was named after the late Queen Elizabeth’s family nickname, according to her birth announcement, while her middle name, Diana, “was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, the Princess of Wales.”

“On June 4th, we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili,” the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said at the time. “She is more than we could have ever imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we’ve felt from across the globe.”

“Thank you for your continued kindness and support during this very special time for our family,” they added.
