Michael Phelps is teaching NFL players how to swim

Olympic hero Michael Phelps is lending his skills to his hometown Baltimore Ravens, agreeing to teach the football players how to swim.

The Ravens contacted the 23-time gold medal winner this week after cornerback Marlon Humphrey posted a social media video of several players asking Phelps to visit the team’s training center to help them learn to hold their own in the water.

Humphrey, offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley, safety Kyle Hamilton and tight end Charlie Kolar — who later told reporters he didn’t expect their video to be publicly shared — recorded their cheeky plea for help from a swimming pool.

“Hey Mr. Phelps, we have a problem. Did you know that one in three Ravens cannot swim?” they say in the clip.

A day later, Phelps wrote back on social media that he liked the sound of his home team’s game plan: “I got yall!!! Let’s do it!!”

His response was met by fans calling him the GOAT and asking them to film the lessons for all to see.

Phelps’ 28 total medals make him the most-decorated Olympian of all time. The Ravens have meanwhile won two Super Bowls and are expected to be very competitive when they kick off their season against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sept. 7.

The New York Jets may be able to join the Ravens for a dip in the Inner Harbor when they travel to Baltimore for a Nov. 23 showdown.
