Nancy Kissinger, wife of ex-Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, dead at 92


Nancy Kissinger, the wife of late former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, reportedly died Thursday at her home in South Kent, Conn. She was 92.

Kissinger’s death, citing an announcement by her family, was first reported by the New York Times.

Though never officially a US diplomat, Kissinger frequently accompanied her husband on diplomatic missions to Russia, the Middle East and other parts of the world, and appeared alongside him in photo ops with powerful world leaders.

The couple, who had no children, were also fixtures at state dinners, embassy events and White House receptions during Republican administrations.

Kissinger, born Nancy Sharon Maginnes in Manhattan in 1934, is survived by her two stepchildren and five step-grandchildren.

Her husband, who served under the Nixon and Ford administrations, died in November of 2023 at the age of 100.
