A 9-year-old New Jersey boy killed in a car crash at the start of the school year was inadvertently cropped out of a photo in his elementary school’s yearbook.
The Upper Township School District acknowledged the “pain and frustration” the omission caused in statement to NJ.com, admitting that “navigating such an unimaginable tragedy is something our district has never faced before.”
Easton Beisler was killed on Sept. 12 when the SUV his mom was driving home from a football scrimmage collided with a motorcycle being operated by a coach, who also died in the crash.
School administrators said they made sure their 2025 yearbook included a photo taken of Easton with his classmates at the start of the school year and were unaware that picture had been cropped until the books had already been printed.
“Please know that a decision was never made to leave Easton out of the yearbook,” school officials said.
In a fundraiser launched after Easton’s death, Upper Township Football remembered the boy as “a bright and talented peewee player who touched the hearts of everyone around him.” He wore the number 23 for the Upper Township Indians, who play in Cape May County.
