A North Jersey man was sentenced to 37 years in prison for sexually assaulting a girl under age 13 who he knew, authorities said Monday.
Jhaitan Snow, a 40-year-old Bayonne man, had been convicted of aggravated sexual assault, child endangerment and sexual assault back in October.
Snow sexually assaulted the girl multiple times at a home in Jersey City between August 2020 and March 2022, authorities said. She was under 13 years old during the assaults, police said.
Judge Mitchell Pascual handed down Snow’s sentence on Friday, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s office said. Snow was also sentenced to 8 years for sexual assault and 8 years for child endangerment, but those sentences will run concurrently with the 37-year term for aggravated sexual assault.
Snow must serve at least 25 years before he is eligible for parole, authorities said. He will also have to register as a sex offender and be under lifetime parole supervision following his release.
