A New York man is accused of sexually assaulting two girls, ages 13 and 14, in separate incidents in Pennsylvania after chatting with them on social media, officials said Friday.
Dijani Brown, 28, is accused of meeting both victims on “friend finder” apps, lying about his age, arranging to get together with the girls and then sexually assaulting them inside his vehicle, the U.S. Marshals Service said in a press release.
The first incident occurred in Manor Township, Lancaster County, on Oct. 12, when Brown allegedly assaulted the 13-year-old girl, police said.
Two days later, officially say he targeted a 14-year-old girl in Horsham Township, Montgomery County, roughly 90 miles east of Manor Township.
An arrest warrant was issued in Montgomery County on Nov. 20, followed by Horsham police requesting assistance from the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force. An arrest warrant in Lancaster County was issued on Jan. 20.
After failing to surrender to authorities in either county, Brown was tracked to a family member’s home in Yonkers, roughly 15 miles north of Midtown Manhattan.
He was taken into custody by members of the U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Task Force and investigators with the Marshals Task Force in Philadelphia. Brown was then transported to the Westchester County jail, where he currently awaits extradition to Pennsylvania.
“The arrest of Dijani Brown removes a sexual predator from the community and underscores the seriousness with which the Marshals Service treats warrants involving children,” said Robert Clark, the Supervisory Deputy Marshal for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
