NYC man killed after hit by 2 SUVs on I-95 in Fla.

A New York City man was killed early Friday morning after walking onto Interstate 95 in Flagler County, along Florida’s Atlantic coast, for an “unknown reason” where he was struck by two SUVs, officials said.

The incident occurred around 3 a.m. near Palm Coast Parkway. The 20-year-old victim, who hasn’t been identified, was facing west and standing on the outside shoulder of the highway in Flagler County when he stepped into the northbound travel lanes, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A silver Nissan Rogue and a gray Ford Edge heading north on the highway were unable to stop and struck the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene by Flagler County Fire Rescue, the Daytona Beach News-Journal reported.

The driver of the Nissan, a 51-year-old woman from Roanoke, Va., was traveling north in the outside lane. Behind her, a 74-year-old man from Collegeville, Pa., was driving the Ford with two passengers: a 74-year-old woman, also from Collegeville, and a 72-year-old woman from Levittown, Pa.

Neither the drivers nor the passengers were injured in the incident, officials said.

The Daily News has reached out to the Florida State Patrol for comment.
