Gold-medal winning figure skater Alysa Liu may be getting a little too much love from her fans.
“So I land at the airport & there’s a crowd waiting with cameras and things for me to sign,” she posted on Instagram. “All up in my space.”
The 20-year-old Californian won singles and team events in women’s figure skating at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano-Cortina, Italy.
Her inspiring wins came four years after she announced her retirement from figure skating after 11 “insane” years on the ice. She’d just finished fifth in the Beijing Olympics and said the goals she’d set for herself were complete.
Her comeback and undeniable success made her one of the bigger stories of the Olympic games that concluded on Feb 22. But her returns to the U.S. and the hoopla surrounding her success appears to have become overwhelming for the University of California, Los Angeles student.
“Someone chased me to my car bruh,” she complained on Instagram. “Don’t do that to me.”
She punctuated her posting with a crying emoji before publishing a selfie she said was taken from inside a storage closet.
