Kyle Snyder, a wrestler who won a gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio and silver at the Tokyo games in 2021, was arrested last week in Ohio as part of a prostitution sting.
Columbus Police Sgt. Joe Albert told 10 WNBS that undercover officers posted an ad for escort services and started receiving text messages from a man around 8:15 p.m. on Friday, May 9.
The undercovers set up a meet at a local hotel where Snyder, 29, arrived about 20 minutes later and handed over cash before requesting a sexual act. He was arrested and subsequently released from custody. He is due back in court next week.
A total of 16 men were charged as part of the sting.
Snyder, who was a three-time NCAA champion at Ohio State University, also appeared at the Paris Olympics last summer where he placed 4th.
He’s also won three world championships and recently signed with Hulk Hogan’s Real American Freestyle wrestling league.
