Get it together Hulu.
Some Oscars 2025 viewers who are watching the show on Hulu claim the streaming service has been crashing throughout the night.
“Hey Hulu, get your shit together!!! No one can watch #TheOscars right now on your service!” one person wrote on X.
Another fan tweeted, “#Hulu owes me a damn refund right about now. All that advertisement about streaming the #Oscars2025, only for the site to not work.”
“Y’all better give everyone a free month at the very least. App crashing and logging people out on Oscar night. This sucks a–,” someone else said.
A different fan tweeted the video of Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo’s “Wicked” medley that kicked off the show and said, “I MISSED THIS BECAUSE HULU’S F–K A–.”
“I wanted to see the Wicked performance, f–k you hulu,” another tweet read.
“me trying to understand how Hulu a billion dollar company and is down,” someone else wrote.
“hulu why are you tweeting about the oscars as if your own stream ain’t working,” said another fan.
Another viewer tweeted, “New rule: if a streaming version plans to stream a live event and botches it, all subscribers should get a free month of their current plan. Looking at you,@hulu.”
Roughly 40 minutes into the award show, Hulu Support tweeted, “Having issues logging in? If so – we’re on it! Our team is actively investigating, and we hope to have things back up and running soon.”
This is the first time that the Oscars have streamed live on Hulu. The show is also airing on ABC. Conan O’Brien is hosting the show.
Last week, Disney confirmed to Deadline that it sold all of its advertising inventory for the Oscars telecase.
A 30-second ad spot reportedly cost between $1.7 and $2.3 million. The cost is the same for the ABC telecast and the Hulu stream
America demanded it, and now it’s happening: Taco Bell’s new Cheesy Chalupa Supreme. In other news, I’m hosting the Oscars,” O’Brien, 61, said in a statement released by ABC in November.
He previously hosted the Emmys in 2002 and 2006.
It was reported last year that Jimmy Kimmel and John Mulaney turned down hosting the 2025 Oscars.
Kimmel hosted the ceremony in 2017, 2018, 2023 and 2024. Other recent hosts include Regina Hall, Wanda Sykes and Amy Schumer in 2022, Chris Rock in 2016, Neil Patrick Harris in 2015, Ellen DeGeneres in 2014, and Seth MacFarlane in 2013.
