‘Outlander’ star Sam Heughan reveals what he ‘stole’ from set

So long, sassenach.

“Outlander” on Starz will end with Season 8 – and although that final season hasn’t aired yet and the premiere date is unknown, filming has wrapped. Series star Sam Heughan is officially finished playing Jamie Fraser — and he didn’t walk away empty-handed.

While talking to The Post to promote his new show “The Couple Next Door” (Fridays at 9 p.m. on Starz), Heughan, 44, revealed what he took home from the “Outlander” set on the last day of filming.

“I did steal some things, but I was gifted a full Jamie Fraser. So I have his boots, his kilt, his jacket, his hat and wig,” he explained.

Even more, he took one of the prosthetic scars he wore on his back, which Jamie had scars from getting whipped in his youth.

“That’s been framed, and is on my wall,” he revealed.

And since he has Jamie’s entire outfit and look, “I suppose if I ever needed to, I could present a full Jamie in my house –  if I’m ever missing him that much,” he joked.

“Outlander” first premiered in 2014. Heughan has played Jamie Fraser for 11 years and over 100 episodes.

The story follows Jamie’s decades-long love with time-traveling nurse Claire (Caitriona Balfe), as the couple has dealt with various wars, pirates, politics, witch hunts, years of separation, murder attempts, and more. He sometimes called her “sassenach,” since she’s English.

The show is also getting a spinoff prequel, “Outlander: Blood of My Blood,” following Jamie and Claire’s parents. That will air on Starz at an unspecified date this summer.

When asked what else he “stole,” from the set, Heughan declined to specify.

“Nothing special. Nothing big. There’s a few things where, just as I was leaving, I felt a little bit emboldened and was like, ‘I’m going to take that with me!’” he joked.

Heughan said that it’s “hard to put into words” what the emotions were like on the final day of filming.

“It was a long time coming. We obviously knew we were in the last season, so the whole season was hard to shoot,” he told the Post. “You had moments where you were very aware of it, and other times where it’s just another day on set. The last day, let’s just say there were a lot of tears and celebration.”

He added, “It’s been a great achievement. I’m lucky I got some great friendships out of that, and it has a great legacy – 101 episodes for people to watch.”

Heughan said that even among the tears on the final day, there was “plenty to celebrate about.”
