New York City is digging itself out from under more than a foot of snow on Monday, Feb. 23, 2026. The blizzard of 2026 reached bomb cyclone status overnight, dumping at least 15 inches of snow in Central Park by 7 a.m. Monday morning. Driving has been forbidden on city streets until noon, schools have been cancelled and tens of thousands of New Yorkers are without power as wind gusts reached 40 to 60 mph, with more snow continuing to fall.
