Ozzy Osbourne has one last goodbye for his fans.
On Wednesday, Paramount+ released the trailer for the upcoming documentary “Ozzy: No Escape From Now,” shot before he died on July 22 at age 76.
The doc, directed by BAFTA winner Tania Alexander, explores Ozzy’s multiple health struggles and his return to the stage for his farewell show on July 5 in his home city of Birmingham.
“The thing about getting old, you know, I used to take pills for fun,” Ozzy says in the trailer. “Now I take them to stay alive.”
Sharon Osbourne says in a scene filmed before the rocker’s final concert that his “one regret is that he never really said goodbye to his fans.”
The family, including the couple’s children Aimee, 42, Kelly, 40, and Jack, 39, looks back on Ozzy’s brutal Feb. 2019 fall that forced him to cancel his two-year farewell tour.
“He comes out of surgery, and he’s far worse,” Jack recalls.
“Having to cancel the tour — that was really his biggest heartbreak,” Aimee says.
Elsewhere in the trailer, Ozzy talks about how recording his 2019 collaboration with Post Malone rejuvenated him.
“I had a blast. That was the best medicine I ever had,” the Black Sabbath frontman says. “I’m not good at being sick. I belong up there.”
Ozzy also tells producers that he’s at peace with dying.
“If my life is coming to an end, I really can’t complain,” he admits. “I had a great life.”
Sharon adds: “He had a brilliant career, and it ended in a brilliant way.”
Paramount’s description of the documentary reads, “This is Ozzy like you’ve never seen before: an honest, warm and deeply personal portrait of one of the greatest rock stars of all-time, detailing how the singer’s world shuddered to a halt six years ago, forcing him to contemplate who he really is, confront his own mortality and question whether or not he can ever perform on stage for one last time.”
“Addressing his health issues and impact of his Parkinson’s diagnosis, the film showcases the central role music continues to play in Ozzy’s life, also proving his mischievous sense of humor remains resolutely intact despite it all,” the description adds.
Ozzy’s family announced his heartbreaking passing on July 22. His cause of death was later determined to be from cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease.
The Prince of Darkness was laid to rest near the lake of his Buckinghamshire home on July 31. The day before the ceremony, Sharon and her kids attended an emotional funeral procession for Ozzy through the streets of Birmingham.
Thousands of fans gathered around the Osbournes as they said goodbye to Ozzy.
Weeks later, Sharon broke her silence on her husband’s death with an emotional Instagram post.
“I’m still having trouble finding the words to express how grateful I am for the overwhelming love and support you’ve shown on social media,” she told fans on Sept. 13.
“Your comments, posts, and tributes have brought me more comfort than you know. None of it has gone unnoticed, in fact, it’s carried me through many nights,” Sharon added.
“Ozzy: No Escape From Now” premieres Oct. 7 on Paramount+.
