He’s ready to twist and shout.
Paul Mescal is gearing up to step into the shoes of Paul McCartney for an upcoming biopic — according to Hollywood director Ridley Scott.
During a conversation with director Christopher Nolan on Tuesday, Scott told the “Oppenheimer” filmmaker that his next project will be a thriller titled “The Dog Stars.”
When Nolan asked Scott whether Mescal will be starring in the film, the “Gladiator II” director, who recently worked with Mescal on the project, said scheduling conflicts may come into play.
“Paul is actually stacked up, doing the Beatles next. So I may have to let him go,” Scott told the “Interstellar” director, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Post has reached out to Mescal’s reps and Sony Pictures for comment.
While there have been no official casting announcements yet, Mescal previously opened up about his rumored involvement in the project.
“It would be an incredible story to be attached to,” Mescal, 28, told Entertainment Tonight last month. “The fact that Sam Mendes is attached to direct, like truly, it would be a dream come true.”
And when asked if he was able to confirm the casting, the actor told the outlet, “No, no, no — we’re not going there.”
And just weeks prior, Ringo Starr told the outlet that “Saltburn” actor Barry Keoghan is slated to play him.
“I think it’s great,” he told the outlet in November. “I believe he’s somewhere taking drum lessons, and I hope not too many.”
Sam Mendes, the ambitious director of “1917” and “Skyfall,” will helm the entire magical mystery tour of biopics that explore the lives of McCartney, Starr, John Lennon, and George Harrison.
McCartney, Starr and the families of the late Lennon and Harrison gave the effort the go-ahead through Apple Corps.
Mendes’ films will tell the story of the group’s ascent from four separate points of view in a total of four interconnected movies.
“I’m honored to be telling the story of the greatest rock band of all time, and excited to challenge the notion of what constitutes a trip to the movies,” Mendes previously said in a statement.
Meanwhile, producer Pippa Harris, of Neal Street Productions, said, “We intend this to be a uniquely thrilling and epic cinematic experience: four films, told from four different perspectives which tell a single story about the most celebrated band of all time.”
“To have The Beatles’ and Apple Corps’ blessing to do this is an immense privilege,” she added.
