Jeffrey Epstein attended Donald Trump’s wedding to Marla Maples in 1993 at the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan, as seen in photos published Tuesday by CNN.
The photos had not been widely reported before, though Trump’s friendship with Epstein was well-known.
The relationship between the two men has reentered the spotlight after Trump’s presidential administration refused to release additional documents about criminal investigations into Epstein. The notorious financier and pedophile died by suicide in a Manhattan jail cell in 2019.
The images obtained by CNN show Epstein entering the wedding festivities and in the background of another photo during the program.
When asked about the pictures, Trump told CNN, “You’ve got to be kidding me.”
Trump and Epstein have been photographed and filmed together dating back to at least 1992, though their relationship reportedly collapsed in the mid-2000s over a real estate deal in Palm Beach, Fla.
Epstein was first publicly accused of sexually assaulting underage girls in 2005, and he pleaded guilty in 2008 to procuring a child for prostitution, though he cut a sweetheart plea deal at the time. He was arrested in 2019 on federal sex trafficking charges.
Throughout his life, Epstein maintained relationships with many popular and powerful men, including Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew and Bill Gates. He once claimed Trump first slept with his now-wife, Melania, onboard his private plane, which was dubbed the “Lolita Express.”
