‘Power’ actress Alix Lapri charged with cruelty to children


Alix Lapri, an actress known for her role on Starz series “Power,” was arrested last week in Georgia.

Lapri, 28, was with charged with one count of cruelty to children in the third degree and one count of disorderly conduct in in DeKalb County around 5 p.m. on Aug. 18.

Lapri, whose full name is Alexus Lapri Geier, was released about 24 hours later.

It’s unclear what occured before she was arrested, but the incident that spurred the charges occurred Aug. 10.

Under Georgia law, cruelty to children in the third degree is considered a misdemeanor and involves allowing a child under the age of 18 to witness, see or hear the person charged committing a forcible felony, battery or family violence battery. The maximum penalty for conviction is three years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Lapri’s credits include “Power,” “Power Book II: Ghost” and “Den of Thieves” with Gerard Butler and 50 Cent. The “In Da Club” rapper was also  producer for the Starz programs.

She has not commented publicly on the arrest. Her most-recent Instagram post shows several behind-the-scenes photos from a set.

Michael Rainey Jr., a “Power” co-star, defended Lapri after her mug shot circulated online.

“On the real, y’all gotta start reading before commenting. She didn’t hurt any kids. Y’all are hoping that’s the case so bad. That’s crazy smh,” he commented on a The Shade Room post about her arrest.
