For the second time in three days, a number of Manhattan subway trains ground to a halt due to technical problems near the West 4th St. station.
As of Thursday morning, B trains were suspended in both directions, F trains were bypassing Manhattan on the G and E lines, service on the C line was affected, D trains were not running between 34 St – Herald Sq and Atlantic Ave. in Brooklyn, and M trains were down between Delancey St. – Essex St. and Forest Hills-71 Ave.
An MTA spokesperson told the Daily News that West 4th St. was experiencing “power problems,” and repair crews were on site, but had no further details.
A similar situation unfolded Tuesday morning, when a tripped breaker knocked out subway signals at West 4th St. station, stranding a number of subway trains underground at red lights for nearly an hour. The cause of that outage remains under investigation.
This is a developing story.
