Probe launched into 3 Conn. troopers accused of sex on the job

An investigation is underway in Connecticut after a trio of troopers were accused of “sexual misconduct” inside a state office building and during work hours, officials announced.

The allegations against the officers stem from alleged consensual relationships between the three state troopers and a private security employee, Commissioner Ronnell Higgins of the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection said in a letter, per WTNH. They were all assigned to the State Office Building located at 165 Capitol Ave. in Hartford.

At least one of the officers is believed to have had engaged in sexual activity with the security guard while inside the state office building during work hours, Higgins said

“While consensual activity that occurs outside of the workplace does not violate State Police policies, conduct that is alleged to have occurred during work hours and/or on site is certainly problematic,” Higgins said. He further noted that while the investigation “remains ongoing, and the full facts are not yet confirmed, it is simply unacceptable t21o me that any member of my agency is alleged to have acted in a way to compromise safety, minimize the dignity of your workplace, or fail to uphold the highest stands of competence and professionalism.”

All three officers were reassigned earlier this month. Then, on Jan. 23, one of the troopers allegedly returned to the building, claiming he was there to pick up some personal items, and he was denied entry. As a result, he was suspended without pay and his powers as a police officer have been revoked.
