Queen Camilla, 77, to return to royal duties after chest infection

Queen Camilla is set to return to public-facing duties after she was forced to pull the plug on several royal engagements following a chest infection.

The royal, 77, will attend a Booker Prize reception at Clarence House Tuesday, however she will meet with guests for a shorter period of time than originally planned.

She will also attend a reception at Buckingham Palace Wednesday with King Charles, which will celebrate the TV and Film industry.

However, Camilla will skip the “Gladiator II” film premiere later that evening.

Changes to her schedule have been amended to prioritize her recovery, palace sources told BBC News.

Camilla missed Sunday’s Remembrance Day service, led by Charles, in London.

Instead, Her Majesty had Birgitte, Duchess of Gloucester, 78, step in on her behalf as she watched the ceremony from home.

She also skipped last week’s Field of Remembrance event at Westminster Abbey.

Camilla also pulled out of King Charles III’s reception for Olympic and Paralympic athletes, which took place last Thursday.

Her chest infection came just days after Their Majesties returned home from an official five-day royal tour of Australia and Samoa. It was the king’s first visit to Australia as monarch.

Doctors advised Camilla to take a “short period of rest.”

“Her Majesty The Queen is currently unwell with a chest infection, for which her doctors have advised a short period of rest,” a palace spokesperson told The Post last week.

“With great regret, Her Majesty has therefore had to withdraw from her engagements for this week, but she very much hopes to be recovered in time to attend this weekend’s Remembrance events as normal.”

“She apologizes to all those who may be inconvenienced or disappointed as a result,” the statement concluded.

The royal family has been plagued with health woes this year.

In January, Kate Middleton revealed that she had underwent abdominal surgery under the advice of doctors.

The following month, it was revealed that Charles, 75, had been diagnosed with cancer — just weeks before Princess Catherine, 42, revealed her own diagnosis to the world.

Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, also revealed her skin cancer diagnosis earlier this year.
