A 13-year-old Queens boy died Wednesday after spending two days in a coma from being shot in the head on his way to school, cops said.
The family of Sanjay Samuel was wrestling with whether to take him off life support as he lay in a coma at Cohen Children’s Medical Center with a bullet lodged in his brain, his devastated father told the Daily News Tuesday.
On Wednesday, Sanjay died. His family is donating is organs to save other lives, according to CBS News New York.
“He’s a coward,” Samuel said of the shooter. “How can you live with this? At the moment, you’re probably hyped. But as time goes by, you have to think about this. ‘I took another persons life.’”
Samuel was on his way to school Monday morning when he was shot outside a Cambria Heights Dunkin Donuts. One shot was fired.
No arrests have been made but police sources said investigators have identified a suspect and are hunting for him.
