Queens high school teacher arrested for sexually abusing girl student: NYPD

A Queens high school teacher was arrested Friday after a student confided in a friend that the educator had touched her inappropriately several months earlier, police said.

Police arrested Brian Greenspan at Martin Van Buren High School in Queens Village, where he is a teacher, around 1:20 p.m. for an incident in December 2024, cops said. Greenspan, 53, is charged with forcible touching, endangering the welfare of a child and sexual abuse, according to police.

The victim, a 15-year-old girl, was at her desk in school when Greenspan walked up to her, told her to sit down, and allegedly “patted her backside above her clothes twice,” a police source said.

The incident “came to light” yesterday when the victim told a friend what had happened. The friend then told the school principal, who reported the incident to police, the source said.

Greenspan was arrested the following day.

Officials at Martin Van Buren High School did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Greenspan also did not immediately respond to an email. His phone went straight to voicemail, which was full and not accepting messages.
