A hit-and-run driver killed a 52-year-old man crossing a Queens street near JFK Airport early Wednesday, police said.
The victim was crossing 155th St. at South Conduit Blvd. near Springfield Gardens about 2:30 a.m. when the driver slammed into him.
Medics rushed the victim from the scene, about two blocks from JFK Airport, to Jamaica Hospital, where he died. His name was not immediately released.
The driver sped off without stopping. No arrests have been made.
Cops on Wednesday were searching the area for surveillance footage that could help them identify the car involved.
Six hours earlier in Fresh Meadows, a 62-year-old man was critically hurt by the driver of a 2023 Mercedes-Benz S580, cops said.
The victim was crossing near 189th St. and Union Turnpike when the Mercedes slammed into him about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, cops said.
Medics rushed the victim to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Queens, where he was clinging to life.
The 31-year-old driver remained at the scene. No charges were immediately filed.
On Tuesday morning, two men were killed outside a Queens food truck in a horrific crash that also took the life of the 84-year-old driver who barreled into them.
Joaquin Venancio, 41, the manager of a nearby tire shop and one of the Astoria food truck’s customers, was hurled through the windshield of the elderly driver’s car upon impact, family members said. Santiago Baires, 70, a father of eight, was also fatally struck.
Also killed was the elderly driver who sparked the crash. His name was not immediately released.
As of Tuesday, 68 pedestrians have been killed by vehicles in the five boroughs this year compared to 75 victims by the same point last year, NYPD stats show.
