A brawl at a karaoke bar in Queens erupted after a woman knocked a would-be male singer in the head with a metal pitcher during a clash over the microphone, police said Monday.
The 24-year-old victim was getting ready to sing at 9 Plus KTV Karaoke Bar on 39th Ave. near 138th St. in Flushing around 4 a.m. Jan. 20 when he got into an argument with a woman who had the same idea, police said.
The victim and the woman fought over the microphone before she picked up a metal drink pitcher and whacked him over the head with it, cops said. The woman took off, leaving the man in the bar with serious head injuries.
Medics took the victim to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital in stable condition.
The assault took place steps from K-Shot KTV Lounge & Bar Party — a separate karaoke bar where in August 2021, 22-year-old Dominick Malivert was fatally shot over a pricey chain. Later that year, police arrested Richard Swygert, 19, and charged him in Malivert’s slaying.
Police on Monday released images of the woman wanted in last month’s assault in the hope someone may recognize her.
