A 32-year-old Queens man was fatally shot during a dispute outside of a downtown Brooklyn eatery, police said Saturday.
Victim Clyde Ricks was outside Guac Time, a Mexican restaurant on Jay St. near Willoughby St., at around 5:30 p.m. Friday when a shooting broke out.
Ricks was hit in the torso and rushed to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he died from his wounds.
It was not immediately clear if Ricks was part of the clash that sparked the gunfire, officials said. A motive for the shooting wasn’t immediately disclosed.
Witnesses said the argument began at a pizzeria at the corner.
“Two men were arguing in front of the pizza place, then a few minutes later, the gun sounded like a cannon going off,” one witness, who identified themselves as defixiones23, wrote on Reddit. “I was getting on the B26 across the street.”
The gunman ran off and remained at large Saturday.
Cops were scouring the area for surveillance footage that can help them identify the suspect and track his movements after he fled the scene.
Ricks lived in South Jamaica, Queens, about 14 miles from where he was shot.
