Queens slasher sought for unprovoked attack

Cops are hunting for a suspect who slashed a 22-year-old man sitting outside a closed Queens store in a bloody, unprovoked attack, police said Saturday.

The victim was seated on the sidewalk outside a cellphone store on Steinway St. near 30th Ave. in Astoria at around 3:50 a.m. on Nov. 30 when a stranger approached him.

The suspect didn’t say a word as he whipped out a blade and slashed the victim across the left side of the face, cops said.

EMS rushed the unidentified victim to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was treated and released.

The slasher ran off moments after the attack.

Detectives recovered surveillance footage of the attacker, who’s described as Black with braided hair and a long beard, police said. He was last seen wearing a black winter jacket, green pants with an orange stripe and gray sneakers.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts is urged to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
