Randy Quaid thrilled to star in new Roseanne Barr project

Eccentric actor Randy Quaid is thrilled to be working with comedian, sitcom star and fellow MAGA fan Roseanne Barr.

Their pair’s lovefest began Monday when Barr posted on X “I am madly in love with the character I created for @RandyRRQuaid on my new show.”

Quaid replied by not only confirming he’s involved in that unspecified upcoming project, but also indicating he’s “the leading man” in the show.

“She is a sexy genius sent from the heavens, this show is BADASS and meant to be!” Quaid wrote.

The pair offered little other information to inquiring fans.

Barr said in January she was working on a television project inspired by “The Sopranos” and her popular eponymous 1990s sitcom, which was briefly revived in 2018.

“They save America with guns, the Bible, petty crime and alcoholism,” she told Variety of her latest brainchild.

Barr didn’t clarify if that was the show Quaid referenced on X.

The active 72-year-old comic released a MAGA rap music video in January, hosts a podcast and was the centerpiece of documentary released in June called “Roseanne is America.”

Quaid is also known to be a huge President Trump supporter. After losing the 2020 presidential election, Trump retweeted posts from the 74-year-old actor claiming the election had somehow been rigged.

Quaid and Barr are also known to share highly mercurial personalities.

Barr was booted off her 2018 “Roseanne” reboot after making racially insensitive comments about a former Barack Obama aide deemed unacceptable by some of her colleagues. The sitcom was brought back without her several months later and ran for seven seasons as “The Conners.”

Quaid has had numerous brushes with the law and was last known to be living in Vermont, where he filmed “The Christmas Letter,” which was released in November. He was nominated for an Academy Award in 1973 for his performance in “The Last Detail.
