RHOC alum Meghan King loses custody of kids after CPS call

The Real Housewives of Orange County alum Meghan King has lost custody of her three children with ex-husband Jim Edmonds according to a new report.

Sources told Us Weekly King lost physical custody of her kids after a school employee reported concerns to Child Protective Services, which prompted an investigation. The source did not share details about the nature of the investigation.

The former Bravo star is limited to supervised visitation with the children and Edmonds continues to hold sole custody, according to Us Weekly. A hearing to decide whether to make the arrangement permanent will reportedly be held at a later date, though the outlet’s source did not specify when.

King and Edmonds ended their 5 year marriage in 2019, finalizing their divorce in 2021. They share 8-year-old daughter Aspen and 7-year-old twin sons, Hart and Hayes.

Since their divorce, King has had ongoing issues with her ex-husband, including an altercation with his current wife, Kortnie in May in which police where involved.. In bodycam footage from the incident, King can be seen calling Edmonds “emotionally abusive.”

According to the police report, obtained by People, officers were called to Edmonds’s Missouri home after Kortnie claimed King had shown up “to the residence several times throughout the day and was currently on scene causing a disturbance.”

King insisted she was simply there to drop off clothes for their daughter and had cleared it with Edmonds beforehand.

Edmonds later released a statement to People saying, “As usual, Meghan is telling tales. Her and Jim barely communicate, so if someone is emotionally abusing her it’s not Jim. And she is not getting full custody; Jim is an active and present father to all his children.”

“The unfortunate part of all this is that it’s the kids who suffer the most,” the rep said at the time. “Jim has always been willing to co-parent in a respectful and productive way however Meghan has yet to reciprocate. Jim has a long history of consistently making decisions and acting in a way that is best for his kids.”
