Talk about a birthday that almost went awry.
Ron Howard’s wife narrowly escaped a disaster after her hair went up in flames while blowing out candles on her birthday cake.
The Hollywood director, 70, shared a video of the scary moment when Cheryl got too close to her cake on her 71st birthday.
In the clip posted to his Instagram last week, Cheryl moves in to blow out her candles when her hair momentarily lights on fire.
She jumped back and yelled as one of her family members rushed to her aid. Others were heard in the background shouting, “Oh my God!”
Thankfully, the small blaze was easily put out before it escalated into a dangerous situation.
“It burnt her hair a little bit,” Howard said in disbelief.
“Can you believe that? Did you get it on camera?” Cheryl responded, laughing at the camera.
The family members had mixed reactions to the birthday accident. Some clapped and laughed while others comforted their startled children.
As the camera panned the room, Howard was spotted clapping and chuckling after the situation.
“You know what? My hair was a little dry,” Cheryl joked, as a family member responded, “It’s a little synched.”
“Nearly had a serious mishap at Cheryl’s family b-day party last night,” the “Happy Days” alum wrote as the video’s Instagram caption. “Whew! #AllsWellThatEndsWell and wishing all a safe and wonderful holiday and 2025.”
The clip caught of the attention of several fans, who left hilarious responses in the comment section.
