Rosamund Pike’s James Bond sex scene with Pierce Brosnan left her ‘mortified’

Rosamund Pike was left shaken and stirred following a James Bond sex scene with Pierce Brosnan.

The “Gone Girl” actress opened up about the incident on the Tuesday, April 1, episode of “David Tennant Does a Podcast With …” while discussing the 2002 film “Die Another Day.”

Pike, 46, said she was left “mortified” after she accidentally “waxed” Brosnan’s chest while “doing the love scene” with the 71-year-old Irish actor.

“I think, ‘Oh my God, I’m waxing Pierce’s chest,’” Pike, who played the undercover MI6 and double agent Miranda Frost in the film, recalled. “I was so mortified. I thought, ‘Oh my God, he’s so brave, and I’m pulling off his chest hair with every embrace.’”

Luckily for the English actress, she quickly realized after “a couple of takes” that “it was not” Brosnan but “the fake fur of the rugs” on the bed they were filming on.

“I literally thought I was waxing the poor man’s chest!” she joked.

Pike’s podcast interview comes after the “Saltburn” actress revealed she was asked to “drop my dress and appear in my underwear” while auditioning for the “James Bond” film.

Despite refusing to strip down to her underwear, Pike still landed the role.

“My first audition was for a Bond film, and I remember them saying I was to drop my dress and appear in my underwear,” she revealed during an Amazon Audible Session in 2018, according to the Independent. “On the day, I don’t know how I got the resolve and strength of mind, but I just thought, ‘Actually sod that, if they’re gonna see me in my underwear, they better give me the job.’”

She continued, “So, I thought, ‘There’s no way I’m going to take off a dress in the audition for this tape to be sent around Los Angeles and to be judged on that.’”

Pike, who was 21 during her audition for “Die Another Day,” also said she arrived at her screen test in her grandmother’s silk gown.

“The costume designer said, ‘That’s a very beautiful dress, but in Bond films we wear things a little more like this’, and she held up three pieces of string,” the “Wheel of Times” actress said. “I realized I was in a completely different world and way out of my depth. So, I put on this shimmering sheath, or whatever the order of the day was, but I didn’t drop it.”

In other Bond news, Brosnan recently suggested he “could get away with” playing the iconic spy again despite retiring from the role after the 2002 flick with Pike.

The franchise, which was officially taken over by Amazon MGM Studios in February, is currently on the hunt for a new actor to take on the Bond mantle.

“Let’s see where the wind takes us. Let’s see what happens. They know where to find me,” Brosnan said on Tuesday’s episode of “Today.” “Why not?”

“I mean, there’s great things you can do with AI as well, so there you have it,” he added. “I’m quite content the way it is.”

The “Mamma Mia!” actor previously discussed a possible Bond comeback in March during an interview with GQ.

“I’m very proud to have been part of the history and the legacy of Bond,” Brosnan said last month. WireImage

“I think it’s best to let sleeping dogs lie, really. I think so. It’s a rather romantic notion and idea, but I think everything changes, everything falls apart,” he told the magazine at the time. “I think that it’s best left to another man, really. Fresh blood.”

“I’m very proud to have been part of the history and the legacy of Bond and the movies that I made with [producers] Barbara [Broccoli] and Michael [G. Wilson],” he also told the Telegraph last month. “That we moved the needle, that we brought it back to life.”

Besides Brosnan, Bond has been played by Sean Connery, David Niven, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, and Timothy Dalton.

Daniel Craig, the last actor to play Agent 007 in the Eon Productions films, retired from the role after 2021’s “No Time to Die.”
