She had stern words for him.
Roseanne Barr blasted Howard Stern in a lengthy X rant following the shock jock’s prank over his SiriusXM radio show.
“Howard Stern still having a hard time realizing he is a p—y now. Maybe one day before he really quits he will realize where he went wrong shilling for fascists and pro cancel culture,” the controversial “Rosanne” star and creator, 72, posted on the platform, formerly Twitter, on Sept. 9.
She added, “He used to be a bastion of free speech, and now he’s a shill.”
However, after someone replied saying that Stern “always sucked,” Barr did slightly defend her fellow outspoken comedian.
“To be fair – Howard Stern is still the greatest who ever did it. He is all the faces of radio Mt. Rushmore,” she wrote. “But still; he’s a boot-licking p—y now. They got to him. They will never get to me.”
“If he wants to grow a pair and put the cats down one day he always will have a seat at my table,” she concluded.
Barr’s social media screed about Stern followed an incident earlier in the week, where Stern took to his show to say that he saw Barr post a meme of him and Stephen Colbert wearing bikinis – when it was rumored Stern’s show would be cancelled.
“The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” got cancelled in July.
On air, Stern mocked the meme, and called Barr a “f–king weirdo” and “braindead” who has “gone mad.”
He said about Barr, “’What happened to her? She’s completely gone, right? I mean, like, what’s her deal?”
Amid rumors that Stern’s show wasn’t returning, Stern recently staged a dramatic bit with Andy Cohen – which turned out to be a prank.
On Monday, he brought Cohen on for a staged bit where he played into the rumors.
“I know you’re expecting a big announcement from Howard and this is not how things were meant to go,” Cohen 57, said, adding that it’s been a “surreal morning here.”
“There’s been a lot of talk about what’s going to happen with Howard’s deal. Is he fired? I don’t know how much I’m allowed to say, except that he’s not here and I am,” Cohen continued. “Howard was supposed to start the show today, and this was supposed to be something of a cleaner handoff. There is nothing clean about it. Here we are. I’m kind of winging it.”
The “Real Housewives” producer claimed that he was taking over the channel with his new show, “Andy 100,” and said, “He walked so that we could run. I can’t possibly fill his void.”
However, Stern then came on to clarify that was a joke, and he confirmed his show is renewed.
“I’m going to have to fill everyone in,” Stern said, explaining that he missed last week’s shows because he was sick. “I was just getting so f–king annoyed with everyone writing me, asking me if I was OK because I’d been fired.”
He added, “I’m minding my own business, enjoying my summer vacation. [A reporter] says that I’ve been fired for being too woke. In light of the Stephen Colbert firing — because the word on Stephen was that it was all part of this merger, and they fired Stephen because he’s too woke — the story then became ‘Howard Stern is fired because he’s too woke.’ I still don’t even know what that means.”
Stern added: “Then all of a sudden, I’m sitting home and everybody I know in my world, even peripherally, is writing me. ‘Are you OK, are you OK?. None of it is true, zero truth.”
“I’m very happy at Sirius,” Stern told his audience.
According to Variety, SiriusXM execs were hopeful about renewing Stern’s contract.
“We’d love [for Stern] to stay. It certainly has to make sense, but we feel pretty good that we’ve done this before, and we’ll see where it goes,” Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM’s chief content officer and president, said last week.
