Sarah Silverman is airing out her family’s dirty laundry.
The comedian, 54, told Rolling Stone that her grandfather was allegedly responsible for her 3-month-old brother Jeffrey’s tragic death.
“I’m going to tell you a big bomb,” Silverman told the outlet in an interview published Sunday.
“The story was that something happened with the crib, and Jeffrey’s little body slid and he got suffocated,” Silverman recalled of her brother’s passing.
“But if you look back,” she added, “there was never a lawsuit with the crib company or anything.”
The “School of Rock” actress was born after her brother died while in the care of their paternal grandparents, Max and Rose.
Silverman recalled that her father, Donald Silverman, told her the truth about Jeffrey’s death in 2022 when he came to New York City to see her perform her autobiographical stage show, “Bedwetter,” which included a joke about the tragedy.
“My dad says, ‘I always felt that he was crying or something, and my dad [Max] shook him,’” Silverman shared. “‘He shook him in a rage and killed him.’”
Silverman’s manager “gasped” when she shared the story, per the article, and then the room briefly went quiet.
“As soon as he said it, it was like, ‘Of course, that’s what happened,’” Silverman said. “His mother always stood by her husband. She watched him beat the s–t out of her son. I couldn’t ask my mom, because she was dead.”
“That was my dad,” she continued. “We were playing poker once, and he just dropped in that one of the priests at his school fondled him. I was like ‘Dad!’”
Silverman added: “He was always dropping bombs.”
Silverman’s father died in May 2023, one year after he told Silverman how her brother allegedly passed.
“My best pal, Schleppy – my dad, died last night,” she wrote on Instagram with photos of the pair when she shared the tragic news. “All the sisters, and grandkids surrounded him with love and singing and very dark f—ed up jokes this final week.”
“But ultimately, he wanted to be with his love, Janice, who we lost last Monday,” Silverman noted of her dad’s second wife.
“He always said he was the richest man in the world because of his family, and he was,” she added.
The star’s mother, Beth Ann, passed away in 2015. Her grandparents are also deceased.
