Even Olivia Pope couldn’t manage this group chat.
After the hit ABC series “Scandal” went off air after seven seasons in 2018, the cast still makes it a point to keep in touch.
The thriller starred Scott Foley, Kerry Washington, Tony Goldwyn, Bellamy Young, Katie Lowes, Darby Stanchfield, Guillermo Díaz, Jeff Perry, George Newbern, Joe Morton, Dan Bucatinsky and Joshua Malina.
As for who sends the most unhinged messages on their cast text chain, Foley, 53, shared: “Probably Katie Lowes.”
“I mean, she just doesn’t care,” the “Will Trent” actor told People on Wednesday. “That’s her motto in life, and she’s so beautiful and talented, and we just let her do what she wants.”
Foley starred as Jake Ballard, the White House Chief of Staff and Command of B613, and a love interest of Washington’s character Olivia Pope.
He joined the series in 2013 during Season 2.
Foley explained to the outlet that, along with creating a successful series, forming life-long friendships is an added bonus.
“You always hope that A, the job is long-running, right? It means I don’t have to go look for more work,” he elaborated. “But in that equation, the benefit of having a long-running show is that you really get to know each other.”
“And this was a show where we not only spent a ton of time on set with each other, but off set,” Foley admitted. “We enjoyed each other’s company, and I’m so grateful for all the connections that I have made with these people. We have a text chain. I talk to them all the time.”
In 2018, the “Scream 3” star recounted an all time favorite memory of filming “Scandal.”
“There’s always a new element thrown at me. Like when Olivia agrees to go away with Jake. They put us on a plane to the Bahamas. It was just Kerry [Washington] and me and a very skeleton crew,” Foley recalled to People at the time. “That was my most memorable time.”
“Because ‘Scandal’ was at the time really popular and we didn’t want the storyline to get out, Disney flew us on a private jet down there,” he noted. “It was a really amazing experience and it’s something that I will never forget.”
Now, Foley stars as a pastor and newly widowed father in the upcoming series, “It’s Not Like That.”
“My mouth can tend to get away from me. There were a couple times…standing at the lectern addressing a congregation where I missed a line or something, and went, ‘sh-t’ or ‘f-ck!’” he told The Post on Friday.
Foley joked, “There were also a bunch of kids in the audience – you can’t do that!”
The “Cursed” actor’s latest show is set to premiere on The Wonder Project on Prime Video, which is a faith-based add-on to the streamer.
“That put a little pause in my step,” Foley confessed. “I have to be honest with you, when I was first approached about it, they said, ‘There’s a catch; it’s a faith-based show.’ And I said, ‘I’m not sure I know what that means.’”
“It’s a faith based show in that I play a pastor. My character is a faith leader. Aside from that, there’s no real espousing of scripture or proselytizing. It happens to be what my character does for a living. It’s a profession that we don’t really see that much on television.”
Foley’s character, Malcolm, is a widowed dad of three. Family friend, Lori (Erinn Hayes) is also recently divorced and together the pals navigate single life and parenthood.
“This is my kind of television,” the “Grey’s Anatomy” actor gushed.
“This takes me back to ‘Felicity,’” Foley added, referring to his hit ’90s drama. The show, which also starred Keri Russell, aired from 1998 to 2002.
“There’s no high concept, I’m not running into a room with a gun to fight the bad guys – which is good, at my age! It’s just simple storytelling, done well.”
