Want to know all about “Severance” Season 3? Well, don’t ask Michael Chernus, who plays the goofy blowhard Rickon.
“I know it’s happening, but I don’t know anything. And that’s not me being like, ‘oh, I have an NDA!’” Chernus, 48, exclusively told The Post. “I don’t know.”
Before he reunites with Adam Scott onscreen, Chernus currently stars in Peacock’s “Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy,”(out Oct. 16), in which he plays the titular serial killer.
In “Severance,” his role as Rickon is much lighter. He’s Mark’s (Scott) pompous brother-in-law, a self-help author who wrote a book called, “The You You Are.”
The Emmy-winning Apple thriller has been renewed for a Season 3, but hasn’t announced a premiere date yet. Season 1 aired in 2022 while Season 2 aired three years later, in 2025.
“Severance” is executive produced by Ben Stiller and stars Scott, Patricia Arquette, Tramell Tillman, Britt Lower, and John Turturro.
The story follows employees at Lumon Industries, a mysterious and sinister biotech company.
Mark is among the employees of the “severed floor.” Helly (Lower, who won an Emmy for the role) is a member of the Eagan family, who are descendants of the company’s original CEO. Lumon has an odd cult-like devotion to him.
Rickon doesn’t appear to be involved with Lumon. However, there are some fan theories that Rickon might be a secret member of the Eagan family. After all, Season 2 revealed that current CEO Jame Eagan (Michael Siberry) has fathered some secret children.
“I love all of the fan theories. I’m obsessed with them,” Chernus told The Post. “We all read them.”
“So, fans out there, if you’re wondering, we’re all on Reddit,” he added. “We’re watching!”
Chernus said that he thinks all the fan theories are “incredible.”
“It’s a testament to how good the show is that people’s imaginations continue after the season is over, and that they want to invest and talk to other fans,” he continued.
“It’s just a sign of a good piece of art and entertainment – that it stays with people.”
