Shaun Weiss offers aid to homeless child star Tylor Chase

A viral video that shows “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide” alum Tylor Chase experiencing homelessness has caught the attention of “Mighty Ducks” star Shaun Weiss, offering “a place for him to go and get long-term treatment” just before the holidays.

A 15-second TikTok posted over the weekend shows 36-year-old Chase, who played Martin Qwerly on 33 episodes of the Nickelodeon show, on the streets in Southern California and engaging with a fan who recognized him.

Weiss, who played “Goldberg” throughout the Disney hockey trilogy, said on Instagram Reels Monday that, after receiving “many messages” about Chase, he “reached out to some friends … and we have a bed for him at a detox.

“And we have a place for him to go and get long-term treatment, thanks to my buddy Mike Jordan at 11:11 Recovery,” continued the Montvale, N.J. native, 46. “All we need to do now is find him. I’m not in Los Angeles or I would go look for him myself. We hear he’s on La Sierra at Riverside. I don’t really know where that is. But if anybody can go get a face-to-face with Tylor, please DM me so we can get him some help in time for the holiday.”

Weiss speaks from experience, having dealt with substance abuse himself, as well as homelessness and multiple arrests, which he reflected on earlier this year during an appearance on the “Pod Meets World” podcast.

Riverside Police told TMZ that Chase regularly refuses treatment or temporary shelter options afforded him by the department, which even alerted him to the viral videos.

The outlet reports that Chase is not only fine with the videos, but is “cooperative and always cordial” during encounters with police.

Devon Werkheiser, the titular star of “Ned’s,” told TMZ that though he hasn’t seen Chase “in almost 20 years since the show ended” in 2007, he remembered his former co-star as “a sensitive, sweet, and kind kid.”

“It is heartbreaking to see him this way,” said 34-year-old Werkheiser, who believes Chase has relatives nearby who check in. “Anyone who has dealt with severe addiction and deep mental health issues knows it’s an unbelievably challenging situation if they don’t want help.”
