Actor Shia LaBeouf on Thursday paid a new bail to avoid jail, but was ordered to attend rehab after he triggered a street fight in New Orleans earlier this month that culminated in his arrest.
During a court appearance Thursday morning, New Orleans Criminal District Court Judge Simone Levine revoked LaBeouf’s release from jail on his own recognizance and set his bond at $100,000, The Times-Picayune reported.
She also required the 39-year-old Disney Channel alum to undergo drug and alcohol treatment and participate in weekly drug testing should he bond out.
LaBeouf immediately paid the fee for his freedom, but was denied permission to leave the state.
Early the morning of Feb. 17, the “Holes” actor was caught on video brawling outside R Bar on the corner of Royal and Kerlerec Streets in the Faubourg Marigny, just outside the French Quarter. Witnesses said LaBeouf was thrown out of the bar for being aggressive. He briefly left the area, but returned a short time later.
Video shows him ripping off his shirt and squaring off with several passersby, who mostly appear to be trying to defuse the situation.
At one point, the “Transformers” star can be seen pushing one person to the ground and punching another in the face, then shoving a third.
As officers attempted to take him into custody, LaBeouf allegedly yelled: “These f—-ts put me in jail. I’m a Catholic.”
He was eventually arrested on two counts of simple battery and released later that day on his own recognizance. By nighttime, he was back on Bourbon Street, partying once again.
Simone on Thursday took issue with the actor’s alleged use of a homophobic slur. She said she revoked his release out of concern for NOLA residents as well as a “marginalized community” that has faced so much “terror” already.

LaBeouf’s attorney tried to argue that Levine’s initial decision to release the actor was “entirely proper [and] routine,” saying the state had not requested that bond be set.
But the judge fired back that certain details of his arrest, including the homophobic comments, had not been previously provided to the court, adding that she’d seen “quite a lot” of new evidence in the days since.
Following the hearing, LaBeouf reportedly dodged reporters outside the courthouse and refused to provide any comment.
